What are Tethered Balloon Rides?  The hot air balloon is safely anchored to the ground.  The hot air balloon ride rises up between 50-100 feet so you can experience what it is like to go up in the air and get a great view.  The balloon basket has a door that opens to make it handicap accessible.  It is not wheelchair accessible.  The number of people in the basket is determined by the size of people.  Children take up very little space.

Is there an age restriction for tethered balloon rides?  Any age restrictions would be made by the pilot. Factors can include wind speeds.  Children under 5 may have a difficult time seeing over the basket.  Toddlers may be afraid of the noise of the burners.

What is a Walk-In Balloon?  A walk-in balloon is an actual hot air balloon laying on it’s side and inflated with a fan.  The walk-in balloon let’s spectators experience just how big the balloons are.  You can also touch the fabric to see what is keeping the balloon and passengers safely in the air.

What is a musical glow?  Watch the beauty of the balloons light up the dark to the beat of the music played by Dave Kallaway, Mr. MC.  The flames that make the balloons lift in the air will now light up the balloons like a jack-o-lantern.  Feel the energy and dance along to songs like Thunderstruck, Dueling Banjos, Cotton Eyed Joe and many more fun songs.  End the night with a tribute to our country with God Bless the USA.

Can I fly my drone at the event?  NO, not without permission.  The hot air balloons are aircraft and need to have a safe space.  FAA Rules of drone flight do not allow drones to be flown directly over a crowd.  Please keep your drone flight pattern off of the event grounds.

How do pilots steer their hot air balloon?  Hot air balloons go wherever the wind takes them.  There is no way to steer a balloon.  Sometimes, the wind direction can be different at different levels in the sky.  That is why balloonists love Albuquerque. The balloon can fly in one direction, change their elevation and come right back the way they came from.  This is called box winds.
